You do not need to invest in property or open a business to qualify for the UAE Golden Visa. If you are a salaried professional with a basic monthly salary of AED 30,000 or more, you can apply for 10-year residency directly through your employment.

IMPORTANT — 2024 RULE CHANGE
Only Basic Salary Counts From Late 2024
Before 2025, the AED 30,000 threshold was calculated on gross salary — housing, transport, and other allowances could be included. Since late 2024, only your basic salary counts. If your payslip shows basic salary below AED 30,000 but total package exceeds it through allowances, you no longer qualify under this route. For C-suite roles, managing directors, and similar positions the threshold is AED 50,000 basic salary per month.
ELIGIBILITY
Who Qualifies
To qualify as a salaried professional, you must meet all of the following requirements.
- Basic monthly salary of at least AED 30,000 — allowances excluded
- MoHRE Occupational Level 1 (managers/executives) or Level 2 (professionals)
- Valid employment contract approved by UAE Ministry of Human Resources (MoHRE)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, fully attested
- MoE equivalency certificate if degree is from outside the UAE
- At least 2 years of continuous employment with current employer (from Jan 2025)
- Valid UAE health insurance throughout the visa period
- Valid practicing licence if profession is regulated (doctors, engineers, teachers)
- No criminal record or unresolved legal matters in the UAE

Your role must fall under MoHRE Skill Level 1 or Level 2. Roles at Level 3 — including most sales, customer service, and administrative positions — do not qualify even if salary exceeds AED 30,000.

- Bank statements for the last 6 months showing consistent salary deposits
- Employment contract approved by MoHRE

- Ministry of Education equivalency certificate (for degrees issued outside UAE)
- MoHRE occupational classification evidence
- Valid practicing licence (for regulated professions)
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer
